Barty is a graduate of Shiloh Christian High School in Bismarck, North Dakota, and has built a diverse career as a commercial banker with First Western Bank & Trust and through roles with Fargo Public Schools, the University of North Dakota, Casselton Public Schools, and North Dakota State University. His Christian faith is the personal value that directs his life, guiding his path and shaping his heart as he seeks to do all things for the glory of God. Barty credits his high school basketball coach, Brad Miller, for influencing him through strong leadership and the ability to bring out the best in others, as well as his mother, whose toughness, grit, and work ethic continue to inspire him. He hopes to be remembered as a light in the world by treating others the way he would want to be treated.
