Legacy Children’s Foundation
K.I.D.S. Food Pantry
In November of 2017, the Legacy students brought to fruition a very important dream and goal. They developed and now manage the first youth led food pantry in our state and city! The K.I.D.S. (Karing Is Doing Service) Food Pantry in partnership with the Great Plains Food Bank distributes roughly 1,000 pounds of protein rich food and personal hygiene items every Thursday from our own back garage!
In addition to this important effort to serve the hungry, LCF students befriend the lonely at New Horizon’s Manor, Bethany on 42nd, Maple View, Touchmark and the Gladys Rae Shelter. Fleece hats and blankets are made to provide warmth and Rory’s Bags (personal hygiene sinch sack) to give comfort to the homeless. Each week we bring food and blankets to the Gladys Rae Shelter to help them provide these important items to the clients they serve.
